We know that spring has arrived in certain parts of the world, our friends send us photos of their flowers and sunshine, but here in upstate NY, spring has yet to arrive. So, we crafty and creative folk make our own spring, as you can see in the delightful views of spring expressed in our Spring Fling swap.

Spring Fling Swap

Time to get some swaps going, and with all of us thinking spring, why not put our thoughts to creating something that represents spring to us. Winter Wonder Swap

Time for another swap! Since winter is upon us, why not make the best of it, and do some creating? Let winter be your guide for this swap. I think I will leave this wide open - you can create anything, let's just keep it at the 4"x4" size and under...small creations. You make 3, you get 3! This way, you can create just about anything that goes in a bubble mailer...atc's, 4x4 page, Inchies, twinchies, small canvas....the winter world is your oyster! Three of us took up the challenge to travel the world and record our "journeys" on playing cards. Thanks Doris and Janice for joining me on the adventure! We have some delightfully creative interpretations of travel to share with you. What I ended up doing was swapping out the cards so we each have 4 from each other and 2 of our own to make a better mix.

Playing Card Swap

Take a regular deck of cards and alter 10 of them front and back to exchange. The theme is "travel the world" and it can be different countries, cultures, modes of travel...the world is your creative jump start!

Wouldn't it be fun to end up with a ring like this? I hope you will be able to join in the fun in this 10 for 10! Swap will be due to Maura by July 15, and that should give you plenty of creative time to work on your world traveling.

Waiting for the arrival of Spring

Even though I know the calender says it is

We are all patiently waiting for the arrival of Spring,

so let’s create our own impressions of it.

Using a Ranger #12 Giant Tag  ( measures 5 1/8" x 10.25") or cut your own. Create a pretty spring tag.  Use your stamps, flowers, die cuts, pretty ribbons and or any of your embellishments whatever you would like to create a spring setting. You can go over the edges of the tag, but remember we are mailing this so use your judgement.

The tag is due to me (Doris Santore) by Friday, April 26.

Swapping out some Inchies

Thanks for joining the swap! We definitely have some cute Inchies here to swap out. Now that the storm is over, they will be going out :)

Fran's Inchies - the designs on black felt really make it pop out. I think she did darn well with her sewing!

Janice made her Inchies using fabric and glittery accents. I even see some embroidery stitches I recognize like French knots.

Miriam is true to form using vintage photos, bits of mica, as well as shells and ephemera.

 

Maura likes to play with color, so that is what I did with mine.
